Once abandoned and severely deteriorated, several heritage sites in Hue have been ‘brought back to life’. Beyond helping preserve the values associated with their original owners and local communities, these structures have become cultural spaces, contributing to the character and identity of Hue heritage city.

On the afternoon of October 20th, Hue City Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the City Border Guard Command signed a cooperation program for the 2026-2030 period. The program aims to improve the effectiveness of cultural, sports, tourism, information, communications and external information activities in border and coastal areas, while supporting efforts to safeguard territorial sovereignty and national border security.

On October 20, Mr. Tran Huu Thuy Giang, Vice Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee, visited Hue City Women’s Union to present flowers and extend his congratulations on the 96th anniversary of the Vietnam Women’s Union (October 20, 1930-2026).

Public bicycles, taxis, electric buses, and charging station infrastructure are gradually appearing on the streets of Hue. With new policies, the city is working to cut emissions, change travel habits, and build a greener and more sustainable urban city.

On the morning of October 19, at Quoc Hoc - Hue High School for the Gifted, Hue City People’s Committee held a ceremony to honor and reward Tang Hao Nhien, a 12th-grade student specializing in Physics 1, for winning a Silver Medal at the 2026 Al-Fergani International Physics Olympiad (FIPhO).

This is the theme of a program organized by Hue City Women’s Union to encourage orphans and children in difficult circumstances to strive in their studies, while expressing gratitude to organizations and individuals who have supported them in their lives.

Hue has identified tourism and services as its spearhead economic sector. Under the scenario for developing tourism in line with the double-digit growth target, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has set a target for Hue to welcome approximately 2.5 million international visitors in 2026, up 31.5% from 2025. This is both a target and a test of the city’s ability to turn its tourism advantages into revenue, investment opportunities, and ripple effects across other economic sectors.

On October 15, the Hue City Women’s Union, in coordination with Children of Vietnam (COV), presented cash assistance to 125 single women facing financial difficulties in Huong An and Hoa Chau wards, and launched a safe vegetable production cooperative group in Huong An Ward.

On the afternoon of October 15, Hue City Vietnam - Japan Friendship Association, in coordination with the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University, and the Vietnam Haiku Poetry Club - Hue Ancient Capital, held a Vietnam - Japan musical exchange program featuring Tachibana Saburo, a Shakuhachi flute artist, along with other artists, club members, and students of the university.

Hue City is speeding up the implementation of its free periodic health checkup and screening program for all residents. This is not merely an administrative task, but also an important shift in healthcare, from treating illnesses after they occur to actively preventing diseases, detecting health problems early and managing each resident’s health over the long term.

From the bus’s upper floor, tourists were easy to contemplate Hue City at night and take photos as they passed by Dong Ba Market, Phu Van Lau, Hue Railway Station, or enjoy the beauty of a poetic Hue City illuminated by the lights from Truong Tien Bridge and the lights reflecting from the Perfume River, etc.
