Automobile assembly at Kim Long Motor Hue Joint Stock Company

Brightening Signs

In the first months of 2026, assembly lines at Kim Long Motor Hue automotive manufacturing and assembly complex have been running continuously. Vehicle frames take shape through each stage of production, readying for new orders. Inside the vast workshops, hundreds of workers operate at pace, while young engineers monitor technical parameters on automated control systems.

In 2025, the company sold nearly 4,000 vehicles of various types, contributing over VND 1.012 trillion to the state budget, up over 60% from 2024. The company also provided stable jobs for nearly 3,500 workers. These figures are notable for a newly operational industrial project.

In 2026, the company aims to scale up production, focusing on buses, trucks and commercial vehicles. Notably, it is promoting plans to supply 4,000 buses to Thai market, while partnering with international firms to develop supply chains for components, batteries and engines.

A representative of Kim Long Motor Hue Joint Stock Company said that the firm is continuing to complete its automotive manufacturing and assembly complex in Chan May - Lang Co Economic Zone, gradually raising the localization rate to around 80 - 90%.

At a working session with Chairman of the City People’s Committee Nguyen Khac Toan, Mr. Truong Dinh Trung, a member of the Board of Directors of Kim Long Motor expressed the business’s expectation that Hue will emerge as a regional hub for commercial and electric vehicle manufacturing. He also noted that, to keep the project on schedule, the company hopes local authorities will soon complete procedures to lease the remaining land for production expansion.

At Phu Bai Industrial Park, the helmet manufacturing plant of EON Industry Vietnam Co., Ltd. is also ramping up to meet export orders to the U.S. and Europe.

After just over half a year of operation, the company has exported over 337,000 sports protective products, generating around VND 140 billion in revenue and nearly USD 5 million in export turnover.

Under its 2026 plan, the factory aims to raise capacity to around 2.5 million units per year. It is also considering building leasable workshops within the project site to attract component suppliers and form a closed-loop production chain.

Growth Driven by Key Manufacturing Sectors

According to the Statistics Office, Hue’s industry - construction sector recorded growth of 11.51% in 2025. Industrial production value reached around VND 53.5-54 trillion, while the Index of Industrial Production (IIP) rose by approximately 14-15% year-on-year.

The textile and garment industry continues to maintain stable growth

Several key industrial products posted strong growth. Automobile output reached around 4,200 units, 2.4 times higher than in 2024; gloves of all kinds totaled 35,000 tons, up 5.5-fold; and electricity generation hit 2.69 billion kWh, rising nearly 33%. New products such as helmets have also begun to form local production chains.

Alongside emerging industries, traditional manufacturing sectors continue to post steady growth. For instance, Hue Textile and Garment Joint Stock Company remains one of the city’s leading exporters.

Deputy General Director of Hue Textile and Garment Joint Stock Company Nguyen Tien Hau informed that in 2025, the firm posted revenue of over VND 2.325 trillion, pre-tax profit of nearly VND 190 billion, and export turnover exceeding USD 120 million. Average monthly income for workers reached over VND 10.6 million.

He added: “While the global textile and garment market remains volatile, the company is confident of sustaining steady growth, supported by its manufacturing expertise and a stable customer base”.

Meanwhile, beer production, one of major contributors to local state budget, continues to maintain a large production scale.

Carlsberg Vietnam Breweries Co., Ltd in Hue currently reaches an annual output of around 315 million liters per year, reaching a revenue of over VND 7,300 billion, and contributing around VND 3,500 billion to the state budget.

Under its plan for 2026, the business will keep on investing in modern technology and automation to enhance its output, while also ensuring the quality.

Scaling Up Industrial Space

Not only are existing factories ramping up production, but the city is also accelerating the development of industrial infrastructure to create space for attracting new investment projects.

Among the standout developments is Gilimex Industrial Park, covering roughly 460 hectares. In 2026, the developer aims to complete about 50 hectares of serviced industrial land, paving the way to attract a new wave of secondary investors.

A representative of Gilimex Industrial Park Joint Stock Company said that the park aims to attract at least five new investment projects this year. However, the company also called on local authorities to accelerate site clearance and complete key transport links, particularly Nam Cao Road and the interchange connecting Provincial Road 15 with Hue bypass, to improve logistics efficiency and strengthen its appeal to investors.

According to city leaders, completing infrastructure in industrial parks and economic zones is a key priority to drive the city’s industrial development in the coming time.

Several major projects are receiving close attention and support from the city leaders, including the expansion of the Kim Long Motor Hue manufacturing and assembly complex, subsequent phases of Kanglongda plant, Creanza high-tech quartz sand processing project, Dat Phuong ultra-clear patterned glass factory, and Chan May Logistics Center…

In 2026, the city aims to position industry as one of the key drivers of economic growth. In just the first 2 months of the year, the sector has already shown positive momentum, with the industrial production index rising by 16.4% year-on-year, including an increase of over 20% in the processing and manufacturing segment.

Initial results indicate that industry is increasingly asserting its role as a key pillar in the city’s economic structure.

The Chairman of the City People’s Committee said that in 2026, the city will steer its industrial development toward higher value-added production, greater adoption of advanced technologies, and stronger environmental sustainability. At the same time, it will prioritize investment in key sectors such as digital industries, semiconductors, supporting industries, clean energy, and advanced materials.

In parallel, the city is finalizing and rolling out its Industrial Development Plan for 2025-2030, with a vision to 2045. A series of major initiatives is also underway, focusing on strengthening supporting industries, enhancing business competitiveness, and accelerating the growth of e-commerce.
