Leader of Hue City Department of Health presenting a commemorative gift to the representative of KOICA

At the meeting, KOICA representatives expressed their interest in the current situation and development needs of the local healthcare sector, especially as Hue is gradually asserting its position as a regional center for specialized medical care. The experts praised the city’s healthcare sector for its efforts in strengthening primary healthcare, improving the quality of medical examination and treatment, and promoting the application of digital transformation.

The two sides discussed several key issues, focusing on the need to strengthen capacity at the primary healthcare level, enhance monitoring and evaluation systems for healthcare management, modernize professional procedures through digital transformation, and develop strategies for healthcare human resources. Representatives of the Department of Health affirmed that these are all areas requiring practical support to meet the healthcare needs of the population in the new period.

In the coming period, KOICA will continue conducting detailed surveys at several healthcare facilities in the area to supplement data for the pre-feasibility report. Based on this, the agency will review and finalize a project proposal for funding, with components that are practical and highly sustainable.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Kiem Hao, Director of the Department of Health, emphasized that the Department of Health is committed to accompanying and fully supporting the survey and project development process. The department’s leader hope that, if implemented, the project will make an important contribution to improving the quality of the local healthcare system, enhancing public access to medical services, and creating momentum for the city’s health sector to continue advancing in the coming years.
