Promoting cultural exchange programs and festivals of Cergy and Hue cities

After establishing a twinning partnership in April 2019 on the occasion of the Mayor of Cergy’s visiting, working, and attending Hue Traditional Craft Festival 2019, leaders of Hue city paid a business trip to Cergy in September 2019, which marked the beginning of the cooperation between the two cities. With the desire to develop youth-oriented cultural exchange activities for the purpose of developing skills related to cultural activities and promoting sustainable development, the two cities have developed a program to visit, explore and received funding from the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs as well as French Republic.

At the meeting, leaders of Hue city expressed the wish to continue to strengthen exchange and cooperation activities heading towards development through orientations and cooperation projects prioritizing in many fields, including sharing urban management models in the future, environmental improvement programs, human resource training in the field of environment.

For the field of education, training and urban development, it is important to organize student exchange programs, training courses, short-term scholarship programs for city officials with expertise in the field of urban management, education and training, as well as socio-economic development between the two cities.

One of the topics discussed by the leaders of the two cities at this meeting was ogranizing cultural tourism exchange activities for the youth in which cultural exchange programs, especially cultural festivals of each party, would be promoted. At Hue Traditional Craft Festival 2023, Hue city wished that Cergy would send art delegations and artisans to participate and exchange within the framework of the cultural and art exchange program between Hue and sister cities around the world.
