JICA cooperates with Thua Thien Hue in implementing projects in the province

HNN.VN - On the morning of December 1, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Hai Minh had a working session with the delegation of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Office in Hanoi.

At the working session, Mr. Hoang Hai Minh acknowledged and highly appreciated the assistance provided by the Japanese Government, people, the JICA Office and partners in the previous time.

Thanks to the support from JICA Office, the province has implemented the project "Building Disaster Resilient Societies in Vietnam", with phase I in the period of 2009 - 2012, and phase II in the period of 2013 - 2016; and the project “Operating reservoirs in emergency situations and effectively managing floods by a comprehensive disaster management information system” in the period of 2017 - 2023. During the implementation process, the projects have brought about practical effects.

Regarding the implementation of the technical assistance project "Technical cooperation for development planning on flood recovery and Building a master plan on disaster prevention in the Central of Vietnam", the Provincial People's Committee has assigned the relevant agencies to consult on procedures to receive the project, as well as coordinating with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, and the JICA Office to prepare for the implementation.

At the working session, the two sides also exchanged and clarified some contents related to the development orientation of the province; problems in urban development and agriculture; control and implementation of flood management plan in the province; as well as the current existing problems of the flood management plan.
