From February 9 to 12, the delegation of People’ Committee of Hue City led by Chairman of the Hue City People’s Committee Vo Le Nhat had a visit and working session at Iasi City, Socialist Republic of Romania and signed a friendship and cooperation contract between the two cities.

Addressing at the signing ceremony, Chairman Vo Le Nhat affirmed the potentials of culture, heritage, tourism, and other similar factors between Iasi and Hue. These are the strength to push up and develop the cooperation and friendship relations between the two cities in the coming time, contributing to upgrading the traditional friendship and cooperation relations between Vietnam and Romania to the new high level.
Mr. Mihai Chirika, Mayor of Iasi City highly appreciated the signing ceremony between the two cities, and, at the same time, he considered it an opportunity for Iasi to consolidate the cooperation with Hue city, especially in the fields of higher education, trade exchange, tourism research and development with Hue City, an Ancient Capital, a UNESCO heritage site, and one of leading important tourism destinations of Vietnam.

During the visit and working session in Iasi City, the delegation participated in a roundtable meeting to exchange information on Romania - Vietnam cooperation and investment held by Iasi Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with Industry and Iasi City Hall.
On this occasion, Ambassador Do Duc Thanh and delegation members exchanged and provided information on locality’s potentials and strengths in the fields of textiles, food processing, farming, export-oriented aquatic product exploitation and processing, tourism and service, etc., to provide businesses’ representatives with an overview of local cooperation and investment opportunities.
Thereby, Iasi City expressed their interest in the possibility of cooperation and investment in such fields as the production of semiconductor components and devices, information technology, creative industries, agriculture, services, etc.
Also on this occasion, the delegation visited and worked with the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, University of Technology, Palace of Culture, National Theater, Municipal Museum of Iasi, etc.
