Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Phan Ngoc Tho receives Chairman of Fulbright University Vietnam's Governing Board

HNN.VN - Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Phan Ngoc Tho has just had a meeting with Mr. Thomas J. Vallely, Director of Vietnam Program, Chairman of Fulbright University Vietnam's Governing Board.

At the meeting, Mr. Thomas J. Vallely said that the purpose of the visit and work in Hue is to learn and discuss with the provincial leaders to establish a partnership between Fulbright University Vietnam and the Harvard Kennedy School (USA) with Thua Thien Hue province in human resources training, as well as in the fields of culture and heritage. Mr. Thomas J. Vallely also wished to cary out the program "Incubating Vietnamese culture" and Hue culture on the basis of cooperating in researching and implementing project programs at the Vietnam Art and Heritage Center.

Expressing his pleasure to welcome Mr. Thomas J. Vallely, Chairman Phan Ngoc Tho said that, as a heritage area, Thua Thien Hue province has been very interested in conserving and promoting Hue heritage and culture values. The province has put Hue cultural education program and other types of folklore into teaching-learning in the school education system.

Besides, Thua Thien Hue province wished to cooperate with famous universities in the world to promote the value of Hue traditional culture as well as promote Hue culture to friends around the world. It is hoped that there will be more cooperation programs between Thua Thien Hue province with Fulbright University Vietnam and Harvard Kennedy School (USA) in the future.
