In Thua Thien Hue, leaders of the Department of Tourism, the Provincial Tourism Association and a number of tourism businesses were present at the forum.

Amid the new normalcy, safety has become a prerequisite in all tourism activities. Therefore, it is crucial that managers, associations as well as businesses and tourism workforce make adjustments to increase adaptability towards sustainable development.

The forum focused on two main topics: an overview of the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on Vietnam's tourism industry over the past two years since 2020, specifying how devastating the pandemic has had on the tourism industry, thereby proposing strategic solutions to restore and develop Vietnam's tourism in the new normalcy. The new strategy should be now living with the virus instead of complete eradication of the pandemic, in a way that we flexibly and safely adapt to the pandemic in the long run.
