According to the leaders of the Department of Tourism, the world Muslim tourism market has been huge and witnessed a strong development over years. After the COVID-19 pandemic, Thua Thien Hue and other provinces in the Central region of Vietnam have cooperated powerfully with the countries in both Southeast Asia and the Middle East, including the nations with large population of Muslims such as Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, and India, etc. The number of Muslims all over the world is 1.8 billion and as for ASEAN region is 255 million people.

However, local tourism has not well understood and accessed to much information about this market. Furthermore, local tourism has yet widely invested in specific tourism in localities to meet the demand of one of the new and potential markets, which are needed to focus on preparing infrastructure for promotion.

To get the effective attraction to this potential international tourist market, local authorities and those working in the service and hotel management need to solve many issues, which are to have a clear understanding of the culture, behavior, and special demands of Muslim visitors, such as Muslim visitors just eat Halal food, the facilities serving them need to meet the specific request such as having prayer rooms (multifaith space), or the travel demand of the Muslims is very high after the month of Ramadan, the most important month of Islam (usually from April to May).
