Hue welcomes around 85,000 visitors during 2026 New Year holiday

HNN.VN - According to initial statistics released by the Department of Tourism, during the 2026 New Year holiday, Hue was estimated to welcome around 85,000 visitors, representing an increase of 25% compared to the same period last year. The number of staying guests reached approximately 45,000 arrivals, up more than 15% year on year.

Specifically, out of the total approximately 85,000 visitors to Hue from December 31, 2025 to January 4, 2026, there were around 50,000 international tourists and 35,000 domestic visitors.

The number of staying guests was estimated at 45,000 arrivals, including about 28,500 international tourists and 16,500 domestic visitors. The average room occupancy rate was estimated at around 60%. Tourism revenue during the period was estimated at approximately VND 150 billion.

Thanks to favorable weather conditions and a wide range of vibrant cultural and tourism activities, Hue attracted a large number of visitors who came to explore and experience its tourism activities. Overall, reception and visitor services at tourist sites were reported to have met tourists’ satisfaction.

On the first day of the 2026 New Year, the city’s tourism sector, in coordination with relevant units, organized welcome ceremonies for flights and cruise ships, greeting the first visitors arriving in Hue by air and sea at Phu Bai International Airport and Chan May Port.

In 2026, with the goal of maintaining positive growth momentum in the tourism sector and effectively capitalizing on its strengths in heritage, culture, and urban tourism infrastructure, Hue aims to welcome around 7 to 7.5 million visitors, with total tourism revenue estimated at approximately VND 15 trillion.
