Thua Thien Hue currently has 86 craft villages, 57 traditional crafts such as: ao dai, conical hat, rattan and bamboo weaving, Zèng weaving... with teams of skilled craftsmen. However, in recent years, the turnover of craft villages and the income of traditional craft workers have decreased. Many vocational establishments face difficulties in capital and consumption markets. The process of transfering and applying high technology to the production is still limited.

Analyzing outstanding issues, the workshop proposed solutions to promote production development, improve competitiveness, and added value to craft village products through developing market, supporting preferential loan packages, and developing tourism associated with craft villages...

The development of tourism associated with craft villages should be done with focus and quality to increase economic value, create value to spread local culture to the Vietnamese community and the world. In particular, it is necessary to focus on diversifying products, creating an experience space to attract visitors.
