Hue City is entering a new stage of development with the goal of becoming a major regional hub for science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation in Central Vietnam. To realize this strategy, intellectuals, scientists, experts, and traditional local knowledge are regarded as a key force contributing to Hue’s sustainable growth.

On May 27, Mr. Tran Huu Thuy Giang, Vice Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee, had a working meeting with a delegation from CNN International Commercial, led by Mr. Phil Nelson, CNN’s Executive Vice President, to discuss a media cooperation plan in the period of 2026 - 2030, aimed at promoting the core identity of Hue to the world.

On the afternoon of May 8th, the Standing Committee of Hue City Party Committee held a working session with a delegation from the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST), led by Prof. Dr. Tran Hong Thai, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Policy and Strategy Commission, and President of VAST, to assess the implementation results of the 2025–2030 science and technology cooperation agreement between the two parties.

The City People’s Committee has issued a decision to issue the Green Tourism Criteria. The implementation of these criteria aims to concretize the orientation for sustainable, environmentally friendly tourism development, in alignment with the national green growth strategy.

After five editions, the VnExpress Marathon Hue has made tangible contributions to the city’s overall development landscape. On the morning of March 6, the Department of Industry and Trade coordinated with the Institution for Strategy and Policy Studies under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, organized a workshop to solicit feedback from central and local departments, agencies, experts, and businesses. The consultation was held to complete the Project on Industrial Development of Hue City for the 2025-2030 period, with a vision toward 2045.

Facing with the growing pressure of increasing household waste volumes, Hue is confronted with the need to renew its approach to urban waste management. In the context of the circular economy becoming an inevitable trend for modern cities, to reuse is not only an environmental action but also a strategy for sustainable development.

In recent days, the mindset of “Preservation for Development” and “Development grounded in Heritage” has become increasingly evident in Hue City’s strategy. Heritage is identified as one of the essential pillars for sustainable tourism development, serving as a driving force for balanced and inclusive socio-economic development.
