One morning in late 2025, at Chieu Cafe on Dang Thai Than Street, behind the Hue Imperial Citadel, young musician Huynh Anh Khang had a conversation with us about music and his love for Hue – the land he feels he “owes a debt to.”

During this Binh Ngo Lunar New Year, the community of Hue heritage enthusiasts receive good news. That is the comeback of the once-renowned lien lang Chuon (the Chuon village decorative scroll). The journey of reviving this valuable type of folk painting, which has been lost for some time, is a long story which took not only sweat, buy also dedication of young people who love the heritage.

Ask the people of Hue what flower they love most, and most will likely answer: the apricot blossom. To put it more formally, “hoang mai” - yellow apricot, without a doubt. Don’t believe it? Come to Hue and see for yourself! There’s a whole movement called “Yellow apricot blossom in front of the entrance”; a completed research project on “Conservation and development of Hue’s yellow apricot variety (Hue’s Hoang mai)”; a scientific conference on developing Hue’s Hoang mai into a key local product, aimed at successfully realizing the project to build Thua Thien Hue province (now Hue City) into Vietnam’s yellow apricot homeland. My friend, journalist Minh Tu, even published a book called “In front of the house stands a yellow apricot tree”, which sold out instantly, was reprinted, and translated into foreign languages to great acclaim.

On the morning of February 1, at Co.opmart Hue supermarket, Hue City Young Entrepreneurs Association, in collaboration with Hue City Cooperative Alliance and Saigon Co.op, held the opening ceremony for a Tet Fair themed “Stop by for Tet and you’ll like it - Step in and you’ll love it - Co.opmart Hue: Available on the shelf, ready to buy”.

On the afternoon of January 29th, Hue University of Sciences High School for Gifted Students organized an experiential activity titled “Hue Tuong masks - When art becomes heritage” for students. The program is part of the Local Education curriculum, aiming to help students gain a deeper understanding of local history and culture, thereby fostering love for their homeland and an awareness of the importance of respecting and preserving traditional cultural heritage values.

Hue City Department of Health has issued a plan to organize the “Run with People with disabilities in Hue City, 2025” program, carrying the message “Every step forward - Connecting love”.

The art works by renowned artists from Hue, part of the collection of Hue Museum of Fine Arts, have just been introduced to the public. They are captivating not only for their emotional depth, but also as a special reunion of artists and art lovers.

On October 26, at Hue Central Hospital (Branch II), Hue Central Hospital, in collaboration with the Vietnam Young Doctors Association and Hue City Department of Health, organized the program “CAREME - Love Yourself, For a Healthier Vietnam: Cardiovascular - Kidney - Metabolic Screening” to provide healthcare for disadvantaged people in the area.

Hue Central Hospital has just coordinated with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hue City, the Breast Cancer Network Vietnam, the branch of Yakult Vietnam Co., Ltd., and other sponsors to organize the “Hair donation - Spreading love” program for female cancer patients currently undergoing treatment at the Oncology Center - Hue Central Hospital.

The Coast Guard Region 2 Command, in coordination with the Department of Education and Training of Hue City, the Propaganda Department, and the Mass Mobilization Committee of Hue City Party Committee, has launched an online contest titled “I Love My Homeland’s Seas and Islands” for the 2025-2026 academic year. The contest is aimed at Secondary school students from seven coastal communes and wards in Hue City.
