The “Restructuring the Tourism Sector to Meet the Requirements of Becoming a Key Economic Sector” plan, approved under Decision No. 1685/QD-TTg dated December 5th, 2018 by the Prime Minister, has established an important policy framework for the comprehensive renewal of the tourism sector. Accordingly, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, together with ministries, sectors, and localities, including Hue City, has focused on removing bottlenecks and gradually restructuring tourism products, visitor markets, and the tourism management system…

The Cooperative Fair, held by the City Cooperative Alliance over two days, January 17 -18, at the Cooperative Economy Platform (16 Nguyen Luong Bang, Thuan Hoa Ward), was not only a shopping destination, but also a vital bridge bringing clean agricultural produce, OCOP products, and local specialties closer to consumers, contributing to spreading the value of the collective economy and building trust in local agricultural products.

The agricultural fairs and highland markets organized by the City Farmers’ Association toward the end of 2025 have contributed to introducing and promoting local agricultural products that meet VietGAP and OCOP standards, as well as specialty products of ethnic minority communities in mountainous areas, giving them greater opportunities to reach wider markets.

The 2025 Conference on Connecting the Consumption of Agricultural Products, Local Specialties, OCOP products, and Handicrafts in Hue City is being held by Hue Center for Investment Promotion, Trade and Enterprise Support from December 26 to 28.

Among the approximately 70 traditional villages living on practicing crafts in Hue, the craft of making parasols is a special one. Beyond the meticulous craftsmanship required in the crafting process, this craft is also special because the finished products carry profound symbolic value in the local cultural life. Far exceeding their practical function of shielding from sun and rain, the parasols serve as markers of order, ritual, and reverence.

On the afternoon of November 21st, the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) held a workshop titled: “Solutions to Improve the Qualifications of Research work force, Technology, and Business Management Personnel to Apply and Master High Technology and Advanced Technology in Order to Increase Productivity and Quality of Key Products in the City, Aiming toward Developing National Products”. The discussion focused on solutions to elevate Hue cajeput essential oil into a national-level product.

On the afternoon of August 28th, at Nguyen Dinh Chieu pedestrian path (Thuan Hoa Ward), Hue City Farmers’ Association held the opening of the 2025 Agricultural Fair to introduce and promote outstanding agricultural products, OCOP products, and local specialties to residents and visitors.

Beyond promoting regional cooperation, expanding connections and partnerships with localities across the country enhances the diversity of tourism products, strengthens the link between tours and routes, and improves the ability to attract tourists.

During the April 30 - May 1 holiday period, employees will benefit from an extended five-day consecutive vacation. Forecasts predict domestic tours will attract many visitors. Local tourism authorities, travel agencies, and hotels have prepared numerous products and services, ready to welcome tourists.

During two days from March 19 to 20, an Australian famtrip group visited, experienced, and surveyed tourism products in Hue City. This was an opportunity for the city's tourism sector to promote and showcase the unique tourist routes, destinations, and tourism products of the locality to the Australian tourist market.
