On the occasion of April 30 - May 1 holidays marking Reunification Day and International Workers’ Day, young people in Hue and tourists are drawn to vibrant check-in spots decked out with the colors of the red flag with yellow star, vintage coffee shops, and heritage-rich spaces steeped in local identity. Beyond an opportunity for “checking-in”, these destinations offer a chance for the young to find balance, recharge, and enjoy the holiday in a way that is both reflective and vividly expressive.

In 2000, in the short piece entitled “Hue Diary,” written when he returned for the first Hue Festival, musician Trinh Cong Son wrote, “When you have a place to return, or to visit from time to time, you are very fortunate. There, you have a river, a mountain, and you can find again your old friends whose hair used to be black has now turned grey. On February 24, the Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation in Quang Dien Commune, in coordination with the Hematology and Blood Transfusion Center of Hue Central Hospital, organized the 2026 Xuan Hong (Spring of Red) Festival with the theme “Donate a drop of blood - Give life a chance”.

Stumbled upon the technique of indigo dyeing online by chance, like a twist of fate, a young couple, Dang Cong Bang (1996) and Pham Minh Nguyen (1997), were captivated by this age-old craft. They began exploring and experimenting, eventually creating their very first indigo-dyed pieces. This marked the beginning of Tiem Chi, a small studio the couple established with the hope of introducing others to handmade clothing and fashion items that they personally design and dye using the distinctive blue of indigo.

On the afternoon of July 21, Hue Central Hospital held a special discharge ceremony for four pediatric patients who had successfully undergone bone marrow transplants. Among them, three children with Thalassemia received allogeneic transplants, and one underwent the hospital’s 50th autologous transplant. This event not only marks a major advancement in medical expertise but also serves as vivid evidence of the tireless efforts of doctors and medical staff to provide better survival chances and quality of life for children with serious illnesses.

In 2012, I first visited Chi Linh - Hai Duong and toured Con Son pagoda. Having had the opportunity to visit and worship at many pagodas across Vietnam, Con Son pagoda left a deep impression on me from the very first glance, due to its scenery, its ancient charm, and an unexplainable sense of sacred understanding. Returning in 2025, that feeling remains as intact as the first time. I respectfully share with readers some photos of this ancient pagoda, which is over 700 years old. And if you have the chance, let you visit once to admire and contemplate.

The 2025 Asian Jujitsu Championship officially kicked off from May 23rd to 26th in Jordan. Among the eight Vietnamese athletes competing in, Hue Jujitsu contributed one representative who delivered an unexpected performance.
