The Central Coast Nature Museum has launched the art photography contest “Dance of the Lagoon Birds”. Entries will be accepted from August 18th to October 31st, 2025, from all Vietnamese citizens, capturing vivid and unique moments of bird species living or migrating in lagoons and coastal areas.

In response to International Nature Conservation Day (July 28th) and International Tiger Day (July 29th), on July 28th and 29th, the Central Coastal Nature Museum welcomed hundreds of children from Khai Minh Duc Kindergarten, Super Minds Language Center, along with many local residents and tourists to coming to visit, learn, and participate in a themed educational experience.

Within the framework of the implementation of the national-level independent project on “Studying and evaluating the current status of the avifauna, and proposing solutions for management and conservation of bird species in coastal lagoon area in Central Vietnam”, which is presided over by the Central Coast Natural History Museum, the Provincial Department of Science and Technology, and implemented by Dr. Ho Thang, the project leader, the research team has recorded the glossy ibis (Plegadis falcinellus) for the first time in the O Lau estuary of Tam Giang - Cau Hai lagoon.
The Central Coast Museum of Nature: In need of a proper space

The Central Coast Museum of Nature (henceforth the Museum) was established in 2009, and its specimen display space was officially open to the public in 2020. Though still being in its “infancy”, the Museum’s exhibition space has attracted many scientists, researchers, and young people who are passionate about learning and experiencing nature conservation and biodiversity.

Up to now, the Museum of Nature of the Central Coastal Region has collected and is storing more than 4,500 specimens including many sets of samples of different species. Typically, geological and mineral samples, fish samples, forest wood samples, tiger, elephant, gaur samples, etc.
