For the first 8 months of 2023, the tourism industry has made a rapid recovery with 1.6 times as many visitors to Hue as the figure for the same period last year. In particular, international visitor arrivals were estimated to reach 672,000 - a 9-fold increase year-on-year. Total revenue from tourism activities has been estimated at 4,600 billion VND, 1.6 times as high asin the same period last year.

The first annual boat racing event of Thuy Thanh commune (Huong Thuy town) kicked off on the morning of August 30th on Nhu Y River (at the community tourism spot of Thanh Toan Tiled-Roof Bridge), marking the start of a series of activities to celebrate numerous important local events.

Among the traditional handicrafts, the nón lá (conical hat) has become a cultural specialty for tourists when visiting Hue. It is necessary to have a suitable direction for restoring and further promoting the craft of making conical hats through community-based tourism activities.

Participating in the festival, Hue tourism industry focused on promoting its events and festivals of this year; especially the Hue Traditional Craft Festival 2023 and a series of activities to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Complex of Hue Monuments and the 20th anniversary of Hue Royal Court Music recognized as the world’s cultural intangible heritage.

Following the success of 8 Hue Traditional Craft Festivals from 2005 to present, and implementing the Four Seasons Festival Project, Hue City People's Committee continues to organize Hue Traditional Craft Festival 2023 with many rich and meaningful programs and activities, contributing to stimulating tourism demand and socio-economic development.

In order to create a connection and to balance the nightlife and entertainment activities in Hue city and to form an attractive nightlife tourism product to serve locals and tourists, Hue will soon open a pedestrian street at Hai Ba Trung Street in Vinh Ninh Ward.
