Through an interdisciplinary approach involving cultural anthropology, sociology, linguistics, and heritage studies, the project “Core elements that create Hue’s identity, a distinctive land in Vietnamese culture - once the Imperial Capital, a center of culture - religion - arts, and a symbol of deep-rooted traditions” seeks to clarify the role and value of Hue’s identity within the broader national culture. At the same time, it suggests directions for sustainable preservation and promotion in the context of modernization and globalization.

On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution’s Victory (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025), and National Day (September 2), Hue Monuments Conservation Center will offer ticket exemption for Vietnamese citizens for 2 days, including August 19 and September 2.

On August 16, in Hue City, the Fund for Tobacco Harm Prevention and Control (Ministry of Health) organized a launching ceremony of the campaign to strengthen the implementation of smoke-free environments in restaurants, hotels, and public places.

On the afternoon of August 15, the Office of Hue City People’s Committee announced that on August 14, Deputy Secretary of City Party Committee, Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee Nguyen Van Phuong, together with leaders of Dien Bien Province and Tay Ninh Province attended the seminar “Enhancing Dien Bien - Hue - Tay Ninh cooperation with Australian partners”.

On August 15, 2025, Vietnam General Confederation of Labor held the 2025 Creative labor Festival in Hanoi. Hue City was honored to have two participating units, including: Tien Phong Forestry One Member State Co., Ltd., and Bach Ma Herbals Production Trading Services Co., Ltd.

On the morning of August 15, the Institute for Research and Development of Hue City coordinated with Grab Vietnam LLC held a ceremony to launch the Grab Cyclo service.

On August 14, Hue City Police announced that the program in response to the campaign “Moving forward with Vietnam” will be held in Hue City on August 16.

On the afternoon of August 13, Hue City People's Committee Office announced that a delegation from Hue City, led by Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Van Phuong, had a series of working sessions in Hobart City, Tasmania, Australia. These sessions were part of the Program to promote Vietnamese localities in Australia in 2025, organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

On August 13, the Department of Science and Technology held a conference titled “Orientation for solutions to develop an Innovative Startup Ecosystem in Hue City in the New Phase”. The event was held to foster the work of discussing, sharing, and offering solutions to agree on ways to promote local innovative startup ecosystem, helping it overcome challenges and reach new heights.

A friend of mine just came from the Southeastern region to visit Hue. After a day visiting various destinations, from the Imperial Citadel to the tombs of Emperors Gia Long and Minh Mang, then heading to the Van Thanh - Vo Thanh temples and Thien Mu Pagoda, my friend warmly remarked: “In Hue, wherever you go, you can see the Huong River. Now I understand why people here are so gentle and friendly. In this scene, by this river, it’s hard even to get upset!”.
