The Central Coast Nature Museum has launched the art photography contest “Dance of the Lagoon Birds”. Entries will be accepted from August 18th to October 31st, 2025, from all Vietnamese citizens, capturing vivid and unique moments of bird species living or migrating in lagoons and coastal areas.

In 2020, when male officials and civil servants of the Department of Culture and Sports wore ao dai during working days and the weekly flag-raising ceremony, it immediately sparked controversy online. Then, it was not just the cultural sector, at important events, the provincial leaders (now Hue City) and intellectuals also began wearing ao dai. The appearance of the traditional ao dai for both men and women at cultural and educational events made the ceremonies more solemn, elegant, and impressive.

With the theme “Thien Vu” (the dance of the Sky), the solo exhibition of the painter Doan Quynh Nhu seems to lead viewers into her own world, where the artist “whispers” with nature.

On the morning of August 15, at the Hall of Quoc Hoc Hue High School for the Gifted, teachers and students of the school had a special meeting with Professor Dao Hai Long, who won Gold Medals at the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) in 1994 and 1995.

Stumbled upon the technique of indigo dyeing online by chance, like a twist of fate, a young couple, Dang Cong Bang (1996) and Pham Minh Nguyen (1997), were captivated by this age-old craft. They began exploring and experimenting, eventually creating their very first indigo-dyed pieces. This marked the beginning of Tiem Chi, a small studio the couple established with the hope of introducing others to handmade clothing and fashion items that they personally design and dye using the distinctive blue of indigo.

A friend of mine just came from the Southeastern region to visit Hue. After a day visiting various destinations, from the Imperial Citadel to the tombs of Emperors Gia Long and Minh Mang, then heading to the Van Thanh - Vo Thanh temples and Thien Mu Pagoda, my friend warmly remarked: “In Hue, wherever you go, you can see the Huong River. Now I understand why people here are so gentle and friendly. In this scene, by this river, it’s hard even to get upset!”.

On the afternoon of August 11, Hue City Party Committee, People’s Council - People’s Committee - Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the City held a ceremony to mark the 80th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the People’s Public Security Force (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the 20th anniversary of the National Day of All People Protecting National Security (August 19, 2005 - August 19, 2025) at the City Cultural - Cinema Center.

I visited Dang Mau Tuu’s Song Nhu Gallery many times and realize that he paints a lot about Hue gardens. Each of his paintings tells a story about trees, people, and “fragrant” silences.

“The beauty of Hue’s cultural heritage through sketching art” is the theme of an exhibition inaugurated by Hue Museum of Fine Arts, introduced to the public and visitors in Da Nang City on the evening of August 7.

With a total score of 29.25 in the 2025 High School Graduation Exam, Tran Gia Phuc, a 12th grade student from Math-specialized Class 1 at Quoc Hoc High School for the Gifted, achieved the highest score for Combination B00 in Hue City and ranked among the top four highest scorers of this block nationwide.
