These are 6 of 121 Vietnamese culinary dishes that have just been honored by the Vietnam Cuisine Culture Association (VCCA) as typical national dishes in phase I of a project titled "Building and Developing Vietnamese Culinary Culture into a National Brand Name”. All of these 6 dishes, including: Hue beef noodle soup, glutinous rice dumplings stuffed with roasted pork in sweet soup, mussel rice, banh loc (glutinous rice dumplings), vegetarian fig salad, and lotus-leaf-wrapped steamed rice; all are close to the gardens and paddy fields of the land.

As a land of culinary quintessence, Hue’s cuisine is highly appreciated and favored by visitors from all over the world. With 6 dishes being honored, Hue proudly outnumbered other provinces and cities.

“We love Hue and admire everything related to the Ancient Capital, from its culture, landscapes, nature, people, to its cuisine,” shared the photographers after participating in the inaugural Hue International Photography Festival 2023.

After two previous festivals in 2018 (themed "The Legend of a Flower") and 2022 (themed "Lotus - Essence of Heaven and Earth"), the Hue Lotus Festival 2023 with the theme "Lotus Beautifies Hue" will be held at Tinh Tam Lake for three days, from June 23rd to June 25th.

According to statistics from Tiktok, as of April 23rd, 2023, hashtag #hue reached 1.2 billion views, hashtag #hellohue reached 24.8 million views, hashtag #huecity reached 33.8 million views, etc. Also, an increasing number of videos about tourist attractions and cuisines of Hue City created by domestic and foreign tourists as well as Tiktokers from Hue are appearing on this platform.

Following a series of special activities within the framework of Hue Traditional Craft Festival 2023, on the evening of April 29th, the culinary festival themed “The Quintessence of Rice Vermicelli” was launched at Thuong Bac Park.

At this year's Hue Traditional Craft Festival, the cuisine of Hue and regions continues to be introduced to locals and tourists; the quintessence of the rice vermicelli craft is especially honored.
