With over 120 kilometers of coastline and a vast lagoon system bestowed by nature, Hue is home to numerous attractive seafood markets, including Phu Hau Market and Ngu My Thanh Floating Market, and Vinh Hien Market… In this issue of Hue Today Weekly, we would like to take readers to the fish market of Thuan An through a series of photos taken by Duc Quang, a reporter, offering a glimpse into the vibrant daily life of a coastal fishing community.

The 2026 National Short Course (25m pool) Swimming and Finswimming Championships officially kicked off on the morning of April 5th at Hue City Sports Center (2 Le Quy Don) in Hue, featuring many outstanding swimmers such as Nguyen Huy Hoang, Vo Thi My Tien, Thuy Hien, Pham Thanh Bao, and Nguyen Quoc, … the tournament promises intense, high-level competition with the potential for multiple new national records.

On the afternoon of May 23rd, the “Hue – A plastic-reduced smart city in Central Vietnam” project (TVA project), in collaboration with the Department of Tourism and the People’s Committee of Quang Loi commune (Quang Dien), launched a Ngu My Thanh - Con Toc plastic-reduced tourism site.

Ngu My Thanh, a long-standing fishing village by Tam Giang lagoon (Quang Loi, Quang Dien, Hue City) has become well-known in the tourism community of the Ancient Capital, and it is recognized by the People’s Committee of Hue City as a community-based tourism destination.

According to the information from the Department of Culture and Sports, Thua Thien Hue for the first time is honored to have 3 athletes in the official squad for ASIAD 19, including Nguyen Thi Thanh Nhi and 2 sisters Nguyen Thi My Hanh and Nguyen Thi My Trang.
