Eight years ago, on May 19, 2016, the heritage “Poetry and Literature on Hue Royal Architecture” (1802 - 1945) was recognized as a World Documentary Heritage in the Asia-Pacific region by the UNESCO Memory of the World Committee for Asia and the Pacific (MOWCAP).

Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Phan Ngoc Tho, along with representatives of a number of departments and agencies, local people, as well as tourists, participated in the procession offering lotus flowers to President Ho Chi Minh at the Special National Monument - President Ho Chi Minh’s childhood Memorial House in Duong No Village (Phu Duong Commune, Hue City) on the morning of May 19th.

On the evening of May 17th, the provincial Union of Science and Technology Associations (HUSTA) held the 8th annual ceremony to honor distinguished science and technology (S&T) intellectuals in 2024.

This significant event is part of the series of activities for the Vesak Week of Buddhist Calendar 2568 in 2024.

During the two days from May 14 to 15, a famtrip delegation from the Philippines has conducted a survey of tourist attractions in the Central region, including Thua Thien Hue.

Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) on May 11 announced that the 31st World Travel Awards for Asia and Oceania has been now open for voting at www.worldtravelawards.com. The voting period will close on July 23, 2024.

On the afternoon of May 12th, at 3/2 Park, the Hue Brass Band held a music show to commemorate the 134th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2024).

During the three-day program celebrating the 15th anniversary of Lang Co Bay being recognized as a beautiful bay of the world (from May 10 to May 12), more than 45,000 visitors went to Lang Co to visit, play, and experience tourism and activities within the program.
