On the evening of May 25, the Organizing Committee of Hue Festival 2026 held a press conference to kick off the Hue International Music Week 2026, a highlight of the Summer Festival - featuring the participation of 8 domestic and international art troupes, along with many renowned singers.

As part of Hue Festival 2026, Hue International Music Week 2026 will take place from June 13 to 18 on the riverside stage along the Huong River, in front of Quoc Hoc Hue High School for the Gifted. The event is expected to become a major highlight of the Summer Festival, bringing together artists, dance troupes, and art troupes from Vietnam and many countries around the world.

On the occasion of Vietnam’s Science, Technology and Innovation Day 2026 (May 18), Hue city launched activities to honor outstanding scientists and present awards in science and technology competitions. Recognition and prizes serve as a bridge between scientific research and real-world life, helping to identify valuable new talents, products, and inventions that can be applied in real life to drive local socio-economic development.

On May 17th, the People’s Committee of Hue City held a closing and award ceremony for the 19th Hue City Youth and Children Innovation Contest in 2026. Attending the ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Chi Tai, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hue City; Mr. Nguyen Quang Tuan, Standing Member of the City Party Committee and Permanent Vice Chairman of the City People’s Council; and Mr. Tran Huu Thuy Giang, Member of the City Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee.

In the early summer morning mist, while the weather still carries a hint of chilly breeze, many people passing by Tinh Tam Lake inside Hue Citadel feel as though they have “wandered into a serene space”, where some brew tea, some enjoy tea, others gently pick lotus blossoms, while locals and visitors take the opportunity to pose for photos with the blooming lotus flowers… Tinh Tam has long been a famous scenic spot, once listed by Emperor Thieu Tri as one of the “Twenty finest landscapes of the Imperial Land”. Contributing greatly to the fame of this landmark is the white lotus, also known as the “royal” lotus.

Many residents and visitors coming to Hue have chosen their own unique way to “escape the heat” by heading to the Tam Giang - Cau Hai Lagoon system, where the vast expanse of water and breeze helps ease the oppressive summer heat.

The National Freestyle and Greco-Roman Wrestling Club Championship 2026 concluded at noon on May 8 in Hue City. At the Championship, the host team made a remarkable breakthrough in the freestyle wrestling overall standings.

The Duong No Village Festival 2026, jointly organized by Ho Chi Minh Museum in Hue City and Duong No Ward People’s Committee on the occasion of the 136th Birth Anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2026), and in response to the Summer Festival 2026, will take place from May 14 to 16.

On the morning of May 3, at the University of Sciences, a talk show themed “Hue Singing (Ca Hue) with Hue students” took place in a lively atmosphere, attracting a large number of students.

Whether by fate or extraordinary circumstance, within just 42 days, one tank company had the honor of participating in the liberation of all three major cities in southern Vietnam: Hue, Da Nang, and Saigon. The tracks of their tanks stretched over a thousand kilometers from A Luoi (Hue) to the Independence Palace, where they smashed through the gates and raised the victorious revolutionary flag atop the building, signaling total victory. That unit was Company XT4 of the heroic 203rd Tank Brigade.
