Earlier the same day, Hue City Party Committee organized a conference to announce the Decision of the Secretariat of the Party Central Committee regarding personnel work.
Under the decision, Mr. Le Tri Thanh, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee and Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Da Nang City, was assigned and appointed to join the Executive Committee of the City Party Committee, and the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, and to hold the position of Deputy Secretary of Hue City Party Committee for the 2025 - 2030 term. He was also nominated for election by Hue City People’s Council as Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee for the 2026 - 2031 term, in accordance with regulations.
Speaking at the conference, Ms. Bui Thi Quynh Van, Member of the Party Central Committee, and Deputy Head of the Central Organization Commission, described Mr. Le Tri Thanh as a well-trained official who rose through grassroots positions and has extensive leadership and management experience.

Immediately following the City Party Committee’s conference, Hue City People’s Council proceeded with the process of finalizing the appointment of Chairman of the City People’s Committee. With 100 percent of delegates present voting in favor, the City People’s Council elected Mr. Le Tri Thanh as Chairman of Hue City People’s Committee for the 2026 - 2031 term.

Mr. Le Tri Thanh pledged to work closely with the collective of the City People’s Committee to unite, innovate, and focus on leadership and direction on the effective implementation of resolutions of the Party Central Committee, the City Party Committee, and the City People’s Council; while promoting socio-economic development, improving the effectiveness and efficiency of State administration, striving to fulfill the city’s development goals, and building Hue into an increasingly prosperous city that lives up to the trust and expectations of the Party, the State, and the People.
