Attending the ceremony were Mr. Le Tan Can, Deputy Minister of Finance; representatives of the Ministry of Education and Training; Mr. Nguyen Van Manh, Vice Chairman of the city People’s Committee; along with representatives from local departments, agencies, and sectors.
Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Finance Le Tan Can affirmed that the establishment of the UFM branch in Hue is a significant event for the university, the finance sector, and the development of high-quality human resources for the central region as well as the country as a whole.
According to the Deputy Minister, Hue is a land rich in cultural and historical traditions, with substantial potential for the development of culture, tourism, services, education, and innovation. Therefore, UFM’s presence carries practical significance in connecting educational resources with local development needs.
The Deputy Minister of Finance emphasized that the message “Connecting Heritage - Spreading Knowledge - Expanding the Future” should not only serve as the slogan of the event, but also be concretized in every training program, scientific research activity, and community service initiative of the branch. He highly appreciated UFM’s orientation toward developing a multi-branch campus university model. This is considered a strategic step aiming at strengthening regional connectivity, linking education with practical demands, and expanding access to high-quality education opportunities for learners in the central region.
The Deputy Minister of Finance proposed that the UFM branch in Hue develop in a direction that ensures synchronized quality standards with the main campus, places learners at the center, and strengthens connections with the development strategies of Hue and the central region. At the same time, the branch should become a bridge linking the university, local authorities, businesses, and learners, while focusing on faculty development, promoting scientific research and innovation, and building a university culture characterized by humanity, modernity, and responsibility.
