Students from Quoc Hoc Hue High school for the Gifted win First Prize in the Central Region at the National Youth Informatics Contest

HNN.VN - At the round of the 31st National Youth Informatics Contest for the Central region held recently in Da Nang, students from Quoc Hoc Hue High school for the Gifted won first place in the region’s C1 category and were selected to compete in the national final round.

This year, students from Quoc Hoc High school for the Gifted participated exclusively in Category C1, the programming skills competition specifically for students from specialized high schools. Each team consisted of two members who had 150 minutes to solve algorithmic problems using Pascal, C/C++, or Python, with automatic scoring.

Facing challenges that demanded high-level thinking and strong programming skills, two 11th-grade students from the specialized Informatics Class 1, including Phan Cong Dung and Bui Phuoc Quang Minh won first place in the regional C1 category and they were officially selected to compete in the national final of the competition.

The round for the Central region of the 31st National Youth Informatics Contest in 2025 was organized by the Ministry of Education and Training, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, the Ministry of Science and Technology in collaboration with Vietnam Association for Information Processing. The event took place at the Vietnam-Korea University of Information Technology and Communication (VKU) - University of Da Nang.

The Central regional round of the National Youth Informatics Contest attracted nearly 800 contestants from provinces and cities across the Central and Central Highlands regions.

This is a major playground for students passionate about technology, programming, and innovation, featuring a variety of competition categories such as algorithm programming, creative products, and mathematical-algorithmic thinking. The contests span across categories A, B, C1, C2, D1, D2, M1, M2, and M3, covering all educational levels from primary, secondary, high schools, to specialized high schools. Notably, the creative product competition can be considered a highlight, aiming to encourage the practical application of technology in daily life.

The national final round will take place from July 30 to August 1 in Hue City.
