Awarding the “Making Hue Cleaner” Contest on Hue-S platform

HNN.VN - On the afternoon of June 27, the Department of Science and Technology, in collaboration with the project “Hue - A City to Reduce Plastics in Central Vietnam” under the World Wide Fund For Nature (WWF - Vietnam), organized the closing ceremony and awards presentation for the “Making Hue Cleaner” Contest on the Hue-S digital platform in 2025.

Held from May 20 to June 20, 2025, the Contest was implemented on the Hue-S digital platform, enabling individuals, organizations, and the community to register, update, and share environmental activities in a flexible and transparent manner.

After one month of launching, the Contest attracted a total of 249 registrations, including 107 groups and 142 individuals. Participating teams organized 160 events through the Hue-S application, with 100 valid "Green Sunday" events and a total of 11,380 participants.

Many practical activities were carried out such as environmental clean-up campaigns, waste collection, tree planting, waste sorting at the source, collection of pesticide packaging, and landscape improvement in residential areas, schools, and offices, etc. The total volume of waste collected reached 29,218 kg, including 1,911 kg of plastic waste.

Based on the scoring results and contest rules, the Organizing Committee awarded 15 groups and 5 individuals for their outstanding achievements. The First Prize went to Class 10A2 - Hai Ba Trung High School; Second Prizes were awarded to Thuy Luong Ward’s Youth Union and Hue Medical College’s Youth Union; and Third Prizes went to Phong An Ward’s Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and Hue College. Additionally, the Organizing Committee also presented 10 Consolation Prizes to exemplary units, including Women's Unions of various wards, schools, Communal People's Committees, healthcare facilities, and grassroots organizations.

On this occasion, the Organizing Committee also honored and awarded 5 individuals for their outstanding achievements in waste collection and participation in the “Green Sunday” challenge.

According to Ms. Tran Thi Thuy Yen, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology and Head of the Contest Organizing Committee, the “Making Hue Cleaner” Contest is not just a creative playground, but also an inspiring journey that spreads a green lifestyle, gradually contributing to building a green, clean, and bright Hue City that is rich in identity, environmentally friendly, and sustainably developed.
