According to a representative from the Phu Loc District Forest Protection Department, around 10:00 a.m. on August 10, the functional forces received a report from residents in Nghi Xuan hamlet, Giang Hai commune, Phu Loc district, stating that locals were casting their nets to catch fish when they discovered a stranded Vich sea turtle.

Through inspection, the functional forces have confirmed that this is a Vich sea turtle (scientific name: Chelonia mydas), listed as a species in both the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Red List and the Vietnam Red Book. The Vich sea turtle measures 100 cm in length, 60 cm in width, and weighs approximately 70 kilograms.

The Phu Loc Forest Protection Department coordinated with the People's Committee of Giang Hai Commune, the Commune Police, Vinh Hien Border Guard Station, and local residents to conduct a rescue operation and transport the Vich sea turtle to Giang Hai beach to release it back into the natural environment.

Recently, the functional forces and local authorities have collaborated well to spread propaganda to all classes of people. Thanks to these efforts, their awareness has been raised, and they have actively joined hands to protect wild and rare animals.
