Prime Minister approves election result of Hue City People's Committee Chairman

City leaders presenting flowers to congratulate Mr. Le Tri Thanh after he was elected Chairman of Hue City People's Committee for the 2026 - 2031 term by Hue City People's Council

In accordance with Decision No. 1479/QD-TTg, the Prime Minister approved the election of Mr. Le Tri Thanh, Deputy Secretary of Hue City Party Committee for the 2025 - 2030 term, as Chairman of Hue City People's Committee for the 2026 - 2031 term.

Earlier, on July 26th, at the second extraordinary session of the 9th Hue City People's Council, Mr. Le Tri Thanh was elected Chairman of Hue City People's Committee with the unanimous support of all delegates in attendance.

Born on August 5th, 1970, Mr. Le Tri Thanh is a native of Dien Ban Tay Commune, Da Nang City. He holds a Master's degree in Public Policy and a Bachelor's degree in Political Theory. Before assuming his duties in Hue, he held several senior leadership positions in the former Quang Nam Province and Da Nang, including Chairman of Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee, Chairman of Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quang Nam Province, Chairman of Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Da Nang City, and Deputy Secretary of Da Nang Party Committee.

On the same day, under Decision No. 1478/QD-TTg, the Prime Minister also approved the dismissal of Mr. Nguyen Khac Toan from the position of Chairman of Hue City People's Committee for the 2026 - 2031 term.

Previously, Mr. Nguyen Khac Toan had been assigned by the Politburo to join the Executive Committee and Standing Committee of Da Nang Party Committee and to serve as Permanent Deputy Secretary of Da Nang Party Committee for the 2025 - 2030 term.
