Over 1,000 ornamental plants and orchids on display at Hue Imperial Citadel

HNN.VN - As part of the summer festival program “Shining Citadel,” Hue Festival Organizing Committee hosts the “Three regions ornamental plants and orchids exhibition 2024” at Co Ha Garden, Royal Palace - Hue Imperial Citadel. The exhibition opened on the morning of June 21.

Attended the event were representatives from the Provincial Party Committee, various departments, and agencies, along with bonsai and orchid artisans from the three regions of Vietnam, as well as a large number of public visitors and tourists.

Running from June 21 to 25, the exhibition features over 300 bonsai and orchid artisans from 20 landscape organizations nationwide, showcasing more than 1,000 distinctive and vibrant ornamental plants and orchids of various types and categories.

The exhibition includes approximately 350 to 400 artistic bonsai and miniature landscapes, divided into three categories: large bonsai, medium-sized bonsai, and miniature landscapes. Additionally, there are nearly 500 orchid works in two categories: Cymbidium orchids and general orchids.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Hoang Viet Trung, Director of Hue Monuments Conservation Centre, shared: “The exhibition of bonsai and orchids from the three regions at Hue Festivals in Co Ha and Thieu Phuong Gardens somewhat recreates the image of an imperial garden masterpiece of the ancient imperial garden.”

This year, artisans from the three regions have gathered again with their most exquisite bonsai and orchids to showcase to visitors. These exhibitions connect artisans nationwide, bringing together beautiful works and rare exotic plants to recreate a vibrant space, evoking the values of the famous royal gardens of ancient Hue and creating a magnificent and impressive artistic space at Thieu Phuong and Co Ha Gardens, with thousands of flowers blooming and hundreds of trees showcasing their beautiful, unique forms.

In addition to the display and exhibition, the program includes activities such as offering bonsai at The Mieu courtyard, showcasing bonsai making skills at Co Ha Garden, and forums for artisans to exchange experiences.

The exhibition aims to bring many emotions and positive values, honoring the skills of landscape artisans nationwide, and motivating the development of the landscape movement even further.

To facilitate visits for the public and tourists, Hue Monuments Conservation Centre will open the Imperial Citadel free of charge at night from 7 PM to 10 PM on June 21st - 23rd, presenting performances of love songs and songs about Hue by the Hue Traditional Royal Art Theater at Co Ha Garden during this time.
