Optimizing RF energy ablation in the treatment of cardiac arrhythmias

HNN.VN - On October 11 and 12, the Cardiovascular Center - Hue Central Hospital organized a specialized workshop titled “Optimizing RF energy ablation in the treatment of cardiac arrhythmias”. The event was part of a series of continuous medical education (CME) activities, aimed at enhancing professional capacity and standardizing cardiac electrophysiology skills for doctors both inside and outside the hospital.

Dr. Nguyen Thanh Xuan, Deputy Director of Hue Central Hospital, Director of the Medical Training Center, affirmed: “Cardiac electrophysiology is a pioneering field, demanding precision, meticulousness, and continuous updating. With the orientation to become the leading training and technology transfer center for electrophysiology in the Central and Central Highlands region, the hospital always focuses on collaborating with reputable medical technology companies to provide high-quality practical training programs.”

This workshop not only helped doctors gain a deeper understanding of the mechanism of lesion creation by RF energy, but also aimed to optimize ablation strategies with the support of 3D mapping system in the near future.

The workshop gathered many leading experts in the field of cardiac rhythmology in Vietnam, including Dr. Pham Nhu Hung, Deputy Director of Hanoi Heart Hospital, Vice President of Vietnam Society of Interventional Cardiology. According to Dr. Hung: “The cardiac electrophysiology in Vietnam is developing robustly with the widespread application of advanced technologies such as 3D mapping, cryoablation, and pulsed field ablation (PFA) in treating atrial fibrillation and complex arrhythmias. The event in Hue demonstrates the pioneering role of Hue Central Hospital and other major centers in mastering high-level techniques and regional integration.”

The workshop program included in-depth lectures on the principles and techniques of using RF energy for arrhythmia ablation; discussions on real clinical cases of supraventricular and ventricular tachycardia; along with the introduction of new generation catheter technologies and temperature control systems from Boston Scientific to increase accuracy and safety in intervention.

Within the framework of the workshop, experts and the cardiology team of Hue Central Hospital also successfully performed more than 20 complex cardiac arrhythmia ablation procedures for patients from various provinces, demonstrating the hospital's strong commitment to applying advanced science to treatment, for the benefit of patients and the community.
