More than 1,500 athletes participate in the “Run for the community” race

More than 1,500 athletes started to compete in the “Phong Phu - Steps of aspiration” race

The race gathered more than 1,500 male and female athletes from localities across the country, competing in two distances of 5 km and 12 km. According to the Organizing Committee, every step taken by the athletes was an interesting discovery experience on the beautiful routes, when immersing themselves in the nature and landscape of Phong Phu Ward.

Mr. Nguyen Dang Phuc, a member of the Ward Party Committee Standing Board, Deputy Chairman of the Ward People's Committee, Head of the Organizing Committee, stated that the race aims to introduce and promote the image of the homeland, people, natural landscape, and specialties of Phong Phu Ward to friends across the country. He added that it is also a chance for athletes and people inside and outside the locality to connect, exchange, and meet; contributing to supporting the scholarship fund and the programme to eliminate dilapidated housing of the locality in the coming time.

Awarding prizes to athletes with high achievements in the race

At the end of the race, the Organizing Committee awarded 22 prizes worth 20.4 million VND to the First, Second, Third, Fourth, and Fifth-place finishers in the running categories; and presented prizes to the four oldest male and female athletes. Additionally, the Organizing Committee gave 20 scholarships, each worth 500,000 VND, to poor students who overcame difficulties to study well.

Previously, on the evening of August 30, Phong Phu Ward People's Committee organized a public art exchange program to create a joyful and exciting atmosphere among the People to welcome the race.
