Many highlights from the “Steps of Ancient Fragrance” race

HNN.VN - The inaugural Van Xa “Steps of Ancient Fragrance” Race 2025, organized by the People’s Committee of Huong Van Ward (Huong Tra Town), will be kicked off on the morning of April 27th. As of April 24th, over 2,000 runners have registered, making it the local race with the highest number of participants ever recorded.

In addition to its record-breaking turnout, the Van Xa “Steps of Ancient Fragrance” Race 2025 is on track to set a second record: the highest number of child participants in a local race. Around 300 children under 11 have registered to run on a specially designed course.

With the message “Run to Share - Spread the Love”, the event offers 5km and 10km routes that pass through several local heritage and scenic sites. It aims to promote the spirit of sports and physical exercise, challenge personal limits, and give runners an opportunity to immerse themselves in nature while contributing to the community through meaningful causes.

“Though this is our first time organizing the race, we’ve received tremendous support from individuals and organizations both locally and beyond. As of now, we’ve raised nearly 200 million VND in sponsorships. After covering event expenses, the remaining funds will be used to build one new house and repair two others for disadvantaged households in the area,” said Mr. Nguyen Xuan Chinh - Chairman of Huong Van Ward People’s Committee.

Aside from being a regular host for major running events like half-marathons, full marathons, and VnExpress Marathon..., in the past five years, Hue has become one of the most dynamic running communities in Vietnam. This growth has inspired many meaningful races across wards and communes, including “Hue Jogging - Running for the Community”, “Thuy Luong Jogging - Fundraising for the Poor”, “Thuy Bieu Jogging”, “Huong Toan Awakening”, and now, Van Xa “Steps of Ancient Fragrance” Race 2025.
