Exciting moments along the route of VnExpress Marathon Hue 2025

City leaders and representatives from various departments captured with local residents the moments before the 5km race began

The race featured four distances: 42km, 21km, 10km, and 5km. The Full Marathon (42km) started first at 3:00 AM, followed by the 21km at 4:00 AM. The 10km and 5km started at 6:00 AM and 6:30 AM, respectively.

Now in its fifth year in Hue, the highlight of this year’s marathon was the redesigned race route for the 42km and 21km distances, featuring separate running lanes to help athletes improve their performance.

The optimization of the runners’ experience, combined with favourable weather on race day, contributed to numerous personal records (PRs) being set. Behind every finisher’s medal were stories of exploration in Hue, personal breakthroughs, and stronger bonds among family members, athletes from across the country and around the world, as well as between Hue and its international friends.

According to the organizers, participants in VnExpress Marathon Hue 2025 had the chance to compete for prizes across distances and age groups, with a total prize pool of nearly 1 billion VND. Additionally, finish times in the 42km race will be submitted to the Abbott World Marathon Majors Wanda to open the door for qualifying runners to participate in the 2026 world championship.
