Hue team wins the first prize in the Chess and Chinese chess Tournament for youth groups

HNN.VN - After nearly three days of vigorous competition, the XVII Central Vietnam’s Open Chess and Chinese chess Tournament for the youth groups in 2019 was officially closed at Hue College of Sports and Physical Education at noon of February 17, with the first prize in the whole tournament belonging to the host team.

Awarding medals to the athletes

The tournament was co-organized by the Provincial Department of Culture and Sports and the Vietnam Chess Federation, opened on the morning of February 15, bringing together more than 300 athletes of 18 teams, competing in the contents of standard chess, fast chess, blitz of chess, and Chinese chess.

Hue team participated in the tournament with 60 chess athletes and 20 Chinese chess athletes, winning 146 medals (including 40 gold medals, 50 silver medals, and 56 bronze medals); at the same time, the team won the first prize in the whole tournament. The second prize and the third prize belonged to Da Nang team and Quang Binh team, respectively.
