Hue City launches a pilot bike route every Sunday morning

HNN.VN - On the morning of August 25, on the routes around the Hue Imperial Citadel, Hue City People’s Committee held an event to launch a pilot bike route every Sunday morning. The event had the participation of Hue City leaders, along with hundreds of cadres and locals.

Leaders of Hue City People’s Committee and those of departments cycling on Le Huan street 

With an aim to turn Hue into the very first typical city of bicycles in Vietnam, Hue City People’s Committee has planned a pilot bike route every Sunday morning. The route covers an area including the intersections of Ong Ich Khiem with Le Huan - 23/8 - Doan Thi Dien - Dang Thai Than - Le Huan streets from 6:30am to 7:30 am, starting from August 25 and running until October 6, 2024.

Accordingly, organizing bike parades on the routes around the Hue Imperial Citadel is intended to promote tourism and destinations while preserving living environment. It aims to develop an efficient, safe, eco-friendly, and people-friendly transport system that reduces emissions and no pollution; heading towards the goal of making Hue one of Vietnam’s first bicycle cities.

Leaders of Hue City People’s Committee informed that this activity aims to develop bicycle transportation as a green and safe mode of travel, in line with heritage conservation and tourism scenery protection efforts. At the same time, it also builds up and enhances Hue’s image as a green, friendly, and safe urban, the city that encourages regular cycling and spreads the movement of cycling throughout the community.
