More than 10,000 athletes compete in the VnExpress Marathon Imperial Hue 2023

Thousands of people participated in the VnExpress Marathon Imperial Hue 2023

In the early morning of April 16, more than 10,000 athletes were present quite early at the starting area on Le Duan Street before Phu Van Lau Pavilion to warm up. Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Phuong and Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Binh joined the running track with the athletes.

At exactly 3:00 a.m. the starting signal sounded and thousands of athletes participating in the 42km distance moved forward with the goal of conquering their individual records. Then the races of 21, 10 and 5km distances started at 4:00 a.m., 5:00 a.m. and 5:30 a.m., respectively.

Hue's light rain is considered cooling by the athletes and very convenient for conquering the roads. Depending on the distance, the athletes will run together through beautiful tree-lined heritage roads, famous bridges associated with the ancient capital, and new and modern urban areas. Through each step, athletes have the opportunity to discover both ancient and modern Hue.

“I participated in all 3 VnExpress Marathon Imperial Hue events. The roads in Hue are beautiful and attractive in every step of the way,” said My Ha, an athlete from Da Nang, when participating in the VnExpress Marathon Imperial Hue 2023.

All 4 distances had the finish line at To Huu - Ha Huy Tap junction, Hue City. To support 10,500 runners, the Organizing Committee arranged 12 one-way watering stations, 6 two-way watering stations with electrolytes and fruits. The distance between the water stations was 2km. In addition, the race arranged 6 master medical stations, 5 regular medical stations, and 4 ambulance stations.

Athletes participating in VnExpress Marathon Imperial Hue 2023 had the opportunity to receive final prizes, by distance and age group with a total value of more than 1,1 billion VND, of which, the estimated cash value was nearly 800 million VND. Especially, at this year's VnExpress Marathon Imperial Hue, for the first time, the Organizing Committee gave prizes to participating families. Accordingly, families with more than three members with a total registered distance of at least 36km have the opportunity to win prizes if they achieve impressive results. The family prize at VnExpress Marathon Imperial Hue will create a premise for the Organizing Committee to deploy this category in all competitions in the VnExpress Marathon system in the near future.
