Escape from the heat on Huong River

HNN.VN - The recent prolonged hot weather has led to a significant number of people heading to Huong River, the section that flows through the center of Hue City, to cool off and beat the heat.

Over the past two weeks, Hue has been hit with multiple prolonged heatwaves, making the weather in the entire province, particularly in the center of Hue City, quite sultry. In addition to applying various methods to cope with the heat, many locals have come to the Huong River to swim and cool off themselves.

According to observations, the most crowded bathing areas are around the semicircle pedestrian bridge, located between Phu Xuan Bridge and Da Vien Bridge, along the extended park from Kim Long to Huong Long (the northern bank of Huong River), and the southern park area near Da Vien Bridge.

The busiest time is after 5 p.m. Not only young people, but also many young children accompanied by their parents, and even elderly individuals, venture to the riverbank for the purpose of cooling off.

Most young children are allowed to swim mainly within the semicircle bridge, while young adults and older people wear life jackets to swim farther away. Additionally, some young people bring their own Stand-Up Paddleboards (SUP) for rowing.

“My family come here to swim almost every late afternoon. The water of the Huong River is so clean and cool, giving us a comfortable feeling after a hot day,” shared Mr. N. H. from Hue City. According to him, his family is very conscious of ensuring safety by wearing life jackets carefully and instructing their children meticulously during the swimming and bathing process.

Like Mr. H's family, many other families also flock to different sections of the Huong River to swim and cool off themselves during these uncomfortably hot days.

According to representatives of Hue Green Park Center, bathing in the Huong River is a common occurrence during the summer season. The busiest times are during scorching and oppressive days. Therefore, the authority has also placed warning signs to alert the public to exercise with caution.
