The campaign “Building Close-knit Families, Prosperous, Progressive, Happy, and Civilized Workers in Hue City” has been widely implemented across the city’s trade union system. It aims to raise awareness among union members and workers about the vital role of the family in the sustainable development of society, and encourage each individual to build a loving, responsible, and cultured home. The campaign focuses on promoting knowledge about marriage, gender equality, parenting skills, domestic violence prevention, and preserving Hue’s cultural traditions within modern families.

Over the past 5 years, the campaign has made a significant impact across all levels of trade unions and among workers throughout the city. Over 97% of union members and workers have received training on family building, gender equality, and domestic violence prevention, while over 90% have participated in cultural and sports activities. Trade unions at all levels have supported the construction and repair of 158 “Union Families” and provided economic development loans to nearly 3,000 workers. Various programs such as “Together to School” and “Union Member Welfare” have been continued to be effectively implemented, offering support to children who overcome difficult circumstances to reach excellent academic achievement.

The trade union has also accompanied its members in various training programs on life skills, reproductive health counseling, premarital education, and parenting skills, etc. Several model initiatives, such as the “Happy Family” Club, “Union Pregnant Ladies” program, “lactation and breast milk storage” room, and childminding support, etc., have contributed to creating a friendly and sustainable living environment for workers.

Commending outstanding families at the program

In framework of the conference, 52 outstanding families of union members and workers in the period of 2021 – 2025 were honored. These families are the models of strong bonds, love, perseverance through hardship, and dedication to raising well-behaved, high-achieving children. They also actively participate in activities at their workplaces and within the community. They serve as shining examples of preserving and promoting traditional Vietnamese family values amid the pace of modern life.

Hue City Labor Federation affirmed that in the coming time, it will continue to strengthen communication efforts, replicate successful models and exemplary cases, and provide comprehensive support for workers, especially female union members. The goal is to build sustainable, happy families as a foundation for social development.
