2018 Judo Youth National Championships

HNN.VN - On the morning of June 14, the 2018 Judo Youth National Championships was officially opened at the Provincial Sports Center. The event is organized by the Department of Culture and Sports in coordination with Vietnam Judo Federation. Mr. Bui Thanh Ha, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, came to the opening ceremony.

The tournament lasts 3 days from June 14. There are nearly 380 athletes from 22 provinces, cities and branches nationwide participating in the divisions for three age groups 10-11, 12-13, and 14-15. The delegation of Thua Thien Hue with 19 athletes sets its goal to win one set of medals -  1 gold, 1 silver, and 1 bronze.

According to the competition organizing body, the tournament with the participation of a large number of professional high quality athletes would offer many hot fights. This is an opportunity for athletes of various ages to exchange experience via matches, improve their fighting techniques and tactics.  The tournament is also a chance for youth athletic training clubs and centers to discover and select talents to be trained for club- and team-level tournaments and then for the upcoming National Sports Festival.
