Thousands walk in solemn Buddha procession

HNN.VN - A Buddha procession spanning over one kilometer and participated by thousands of participants solemnly crossed Truong Tien Bridge, creating a sacred and respectful atmosphere during the Vesak.

 The Buddha procession crosses Truong Tien Bridge

The ceremonial Buddha bathing and procession from Dieu De National Pagoda to Tu Dam Ancestral Pagoda on the occasion of the Vesak Celebration (B.E. 2569 - C.E. 2025) was solemnly organized on the afternoon of May 11th (the 14th day of the 4th month in Lunar Calendar) by the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Hue City.

Right in front of the main hall of Dieu De National Pagoda, the Moc duc ceremony (Buddha bathing ceremony) was conducted with the attendance of many senior most venerable, venerable, reverends, monks, nuns, Buddhist followers, and thousands of locals and visitors.

Following the ceremony, the sacred statue of the newborn Buddha seated on the Nine-Dragon pedestal was respectfully carried through the Tam quan gate of Dieu De Pagoda and placed on a floral decorated vehicle.

The walking procession followed behind, consisting of thousands of monks and Buddhist devotees. The route began at Dieu De National Pagoda on Bach Dang Street and proceeded through Tran Hung Dao Street (Phu Xuan Ward) - Truong Tien Bridge - Le Loi Street - Dien Bien Phu Street, and ended at the main ceremonial stage at Tu Dam Ancestral Pagoda (Thuan Hoa Ward).

On both sides of the procession route, large crowds of locals and tourists stood solemnly to welcome the procession and offer prayers. The entire scene created a glowing, mystical atmosphere in the heart of the Ancient capital.
