The film screenings, commemorating the 80th anniversary of the Vietnam People's Army, were organized by the Thua Thien Hue Center for Culture and Cinema. This activity was opened on the evening of December 19 at Dong Ba Cinema (187 Tran Hung Dao Street, Hue City).
To kick off the film screenings on the evening of December 19, the Organizing Committee screened the documentary titled “Thep trong long bien sau” (“Steel in the Deep Sea”) (produced by the People’s Army Cinema), and the feature film titled “Dao, Pho va Piano” (“Dao, Pho and Piano”) (directed by Phi Tien Son).
This film screening will continue until December 25, featuring a wide range of films, namely “Tieng cong dinh menh” (“The Fateful Gong Sound”), “Binh minh do” (“'Red Dawn”), “Thau Chin o Xiem” (“Ho Chi Minh in Siam”), and “Nhung nguoi viet huyen thoai” (“The Legend Makers”), etc., as well as documentaries including “Thanh dong tren bien” (Iron Bulwark on the Sea), “An nhan cua nguoi linh” (“The Soldiers' Benefactors”), “Cha toi va dong doi” (“'My Father and His Comrades”), and “Ngay cuoi cung cua chien tranh” (“The Last Day of the War”).
According to the representative of the leader of Thua Thien Hue Center for Culture and Cinema, the film screenings show the gratitude and respect for the glorious history and tradition of loyalty to the Party, their devotion and selflessness to the People of Vietnam People's Army. It, thereby, also aims to motivate cadres and soldiers to emulate and learn from others, enhance their vigilance, improve their political fortitude and military skills, and endure hardships and overcome challenges in all circumstances to successfully fulfill all assigned missions.
Through these cinematic works, historical traditions are also taught, the patriotism, revolutionary heroism, solidarity, the national pride, and the spirit of self-reliance and self-strength are fostered and cultivated.
