Introducing to the public new creations with many special features, the 3rd young art exhibition - 2018 has gradually affirmed its place as a professional space dedicated to young artists.

The Grassroots Cultural Department (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) said that the National Festival on Van, Chau Van singing would take place in Thua Thien Hue province from April 25 to April 29.

The exhibition is a combination of 12 artists from different disciplines, such as the Paris Playground Graphic Design Studio, the Annecy photographer and director Romain Laurent (who is famous for his unique GIF files), the French director Emmanuel Cossu, the British cartoonist Jon Burgerman, etc.

Though having heard about him for a long time, not until recently have I had a chance to see, with lots of surprise, photos of Hoang Sao's paintings through a poet. Hoang Sao used to be the owner of Tong Hoi Cafe from 1975 to early 1980s, (pre-1975 headquarters of Student Association.)

Escaping the chaos of life, I went to Kim Long, a place where writer Hoang Phu Ngoc Tuong had spent his days under the leafy greens of An Hien, a place he lovingly called, “the shelter of the soul.”

Hoanh phi (horizontal lacquered boards) and cau doi (parallel sentences) are indispensable in the worship space in pagodas, communal houses and ancestral houses in Hue. Meticulously carved patterns on them reveal origin and tradition of Hue people handed down through generations.

In the exhibition space at the College of Arts - Hue University, the Third or 2018 Young Artists Exhibition now showcases 52 works by 51 young painters aged under 40. The works are manifested in diverse and unique forms including installation works, drawings, graphics, sculptures in the round and reliefs with a variety of materials.

Coming to Hue Festival 2018, visitors will be immersed in exciting contemporary performances by a unique combination of international and Vietnamese art troupes and artists.

This was the most prominent and important content evaluated at an international symposium held by the Hue Monuments Conservation Center in collaboration with the Institute of Urban and Regional Studies (Waseda University, Japan) on March 20.

Born in Quang Binh, but Hoang Dai Le lived in Hue from adolescence to adulthood. His father used to be a "chef de gare" at such railway stations as Lang Co, Thua Luu, Noong, Truoi, etc. in the colonial time. He was always on the move working from Hue to Tourane (Da Nang,) leaving his children in Hue. Their childhood was thus attached to the land of Perfume River and Ngu Mountain.

To welcome visitors during the Hue Festival 2018, the Le Ba Dang and Diem Phung Thi Arts Center is urgently being renovated at No.17 Le Loi, preparing for displaying artworks by Diem Phung Thi.

The primary objective of Hue Festival is to create a favorable condition for the culture of Hue to integrate, making it possible to become an attraction to tourists. The 10th Hue Festival will be celebrated in this regard.

After the official spring visit to Hue, the departures of the Emperor and Empress of Japan was accompanied by a special gift made by “Truchigraphy” - with the symbolic image of Ngo Mon Gate crafted with sophistication and subtlety.
