Mr. Nguyen Dac Mui, Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Thuy Thanh Commune (Huong Thuy Town), said that despite the cold and rainy weather, the “Country’s Fair and Festival”, taking place during February 21-25, had welcomed from 700 to 800 visitors daily to experience and enjoy art shows, as well as participate in folk games; not to mention about 20,000 people coming to cheer up the boat racing.
On the same night, the trade fair and exhibition of typical industrial products of the locality, agricultural produce, craft village and the “One Commune, One Product” (OCOP) products, which was held at the Center for Culture, Information and Sports of Huong Thuy Town, also closed.
Mr. Truong Nhat Quang, Head of Economic Department of Huong Thuy Town, said that with nearly 30 booths from 40 agents, including nearly 10 OCOPs from the town as well as the districts of A Luoi, Nam Dong, Phu Vang, Phu Loc, Quang Dien and Hue city, the fair had attracted a large number of visitors to explore and purchase. "Visitors coming to A Luoi’s booths had to go home empty-handed this morning," said Mr. Quang.
The two activities, which were the “Country’s Fair and Festival – Thanh Toan tile-roofed bridge in 2022” and the trade fair and exhibition, were held to celebrate the announcement ceremony of Huong Thuy Town completion for the task of building the new-style rural area and receiving the Third-class Independence Medal.
In addition to promoting the achievements and potentials in the rural industrial development, the restarting of cultural and sports activities, and the restoring of socio-economic activities, this was also an opportunity for Huong Thuy in particular and Thua Thien Hue in general to continue to boost up the movement of building the new-style rural area, the advanced new-style rural area, and the model of new-style rural area which becomes efficient and sustainable.
