Hue Festival 2023 is associated with the Four Seasons Festival direction, aiming to organize a series of festival activities throughout the year, promoting the unique cultural values of Hue and Vietnam, exploiting the strengths of landscapes, various festival forms, spiritual tourism to attract tourists. It contributes to promoting socio-economic development, making Thua Thien Hue truly become the distinctive Festival city of Vietnam.

Since the beginning of the year until now, activities at the Spring and Summer Festivals have been organized, spanning with traditional festivals, folk festivals, along with the Traditional Crafts Festival Week with the theme "Quintessence of Vietnamese Crafts" and activities commemorating the 30th anniversary of the Complex of Hue Monuments and the 20th anniversary of Hue Royal Court Music being recognized by UNESCO. These events have attracted the attention of a large number of local residents and tourists. Continuing the program of activities for Hue Festival 2023, from now until the end of the year, the Autumn and Winter Festivals will be organized with numerous rich and unique programs.

Specifically, the Autumn Festival will feature 12 main activities, including: the International Fine Arts Exhibition on August 4th; the Celebration of Quan The Am’s Enlightenment on August 4th-5th; Hue Ao Dai Festival on August 12th; the exhibition of Royal Treasures from Emperor Khai Dinh’s reign, the 100-year journey of Musée Khai Dinh to the Hue Royal Antiquities Museum on August 24th; the Dien Hue Nam Festival in mid-August 2023; the traditional boat racing festival on the Huong River on September 2nd; the Hue Matsuri 2023 program, Manga Palace from September 9th-10th; the International Photography Festival from September 9th-14th; the Mid-September Hue Unicorn Dance Festival in September 2023; the International Lantern Festival from September 21st-28th; the Unicorn-Lion-Dragon Street Performance on September 28th; and the Hue Tuong (Classical Vietnamese Opera) program - Echoes of Ancient Times on September 26th.

The Winter Festival will feature 8 main activities, including: the "Green Notes" musical instrument performance festival in mid-October 2023; the Wellness Festival - Health Care Tourism Week; the heritage drawing competition for young people on November 23rd; the art program "Stories of Hue's Winter" on December 10th; the International Music Festival from December 15th to 21st; the "Golden Nightingale" singing competition in mid-December; the festival of art clubs in Thua Thien Hue province and Ao Dai performances; and the Countdown program on December 31st.

The Hue Ao Dai Festival through various Hue Festivals has left a profound impression on the hearts of the Vietnamese public and international friends.

According to Hue Festival Center, among the aforementioned programs, the Hue Ao Dai Festival, the International Lantern Festival, and the International Music Festival will be the highlights. The Hue Ao Dai Festival 2023, with the theme "Stories from a River," will innovate, enhance artistic quality, and gradually transform the previously organized Hue Ao Dai Festival into a distinctive artistic program of the capital city of Ao Dai. It will be a unique and novel artistic performance, bringing together renowned Ao Dai designers from across the country, showcasing special collections connected to the stories from the Huong River.

The International Lantern Festival will be an event aimed at preserving the traditional craft, promoting and developing the Hue lantern brand, while also introducing various types of traditional lanterns, lantern-making art, and the lantern culture of some countries worldwide.

The International Music Festival with the theme "Sounds of Nature" is a culturally significant artistic event aimed at promoting international cooperation and cultural exchange between Vietnam and other countries. The event also serves as a cultural activity to celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and many countries around the world. Step by step, it forms and develops a new contemporary music festival in Thua Thien Hue during the winter within the framework of Hue Festival.

On the same afternoon, the Organizing Committee of Hue Festival 2023 and BIDV Bank also held a signing ceremony for a sponsorship contract worth 1 billion Vietnamese dong for activities within the framework of Hue Festival 2023.
