Immersing in the festival
Only on the first two days of July 2023, Hue continuously organized two big programs, Hue - Zumba Festival 2023 and International Yoga Day in Hue. Both events attracted thousands of participants, creating a vibrant and impressive atmosphere for visitors and locals.
Ms. Le Thi Thu Huong, a tourist from Ho Chi Minh City, shared: “Coming to Hue this season, my family and I have been immersed in Hue's festivals. Hue's pace of life may be different than before, with more fresh colors."
This autumn in Hue will not be monotonous. That is the opinion of many locals and visitors when viewing the autumn festival program - Hue Festival 2023. According to a representative of Hue Festival Center, in the three months of autumn, there are about 18 main programs and activities, and 23 response activities organized evenly over time.
The highlight of the autumn festival is the Ao Dai festival associated with the Hue Community Ao Dai week with combining activities, such as Mid-Autumn Festival with lantern festival, Unicorn Dance Festival and the activities of display, installation, Lantern procession, unicorn dance performance, etc.
Mr. Huynh Tien Dat, Director of Hue Festival Center, said that the organization form of "Four-Season Festival" has changed quite a lot compared to previous festivals. Not only enriching the cultural life of the ancient capital, but every visitor to Hue during the festival season will be the subject of the festival. In the plan to organize the four-season festival, the province has oriented to select typical festivals that both show their own culture and have a high mass and community character. The series of activities for each festival season of the year is reasonably arranged, contributing to the diversification of tourism products.
Right in this July, tourists and locals can experience the special features of the autumn festival, not only in Hue city but also in other localities in the province. Notably, there are the ceremony of gratitude to King Nguyen Phuc Khoat and the performance of Ao Dai, the art of Hue Singing festival, Hue Community Ao Dai week 2023, Ao Dai festival, "Huong Xua Lang Co" festival and Science Festival.
A series of activities in response to the autumn festival will also be held in July 2023. Along with the sacrifice at the Am Hon esplanade, visitors and locals can experience the space of Bat Trang ceramic art, the exhibition of the Nguyen Dynasty's administrative dossiers, the exhibition of Vietnam's rivers and mountains on the Nine Dynasty Urns.
People can also participate in the travel photo contest "Enjoying the summer" or come to the autumn art exhibitions, the exhibition "Sketching the heritage of Hue ancient capital 2023". The colors of Ao Dai with creative, experiential activities, performances or special sports activities are also "emotion menus" that visitors to Hue should not miss.

The colors of the autumn festival are considered to attract tourists from all over the world to Hue. Nguyen Van Phuc, Director of the Department of Tourism, said that Hue Sports Festival 2023 taking place in early July and Ao Dai Hue Festival together with attractive response activities have been and will attract a large number of domestic and international tourists to visit and travel in Thua Thien Hue, contributing to the general recovery of the province's tourism industry after being heavily affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Terminal T2 - Phu Bai International Airport has just been put into operation since the end of April and was officially opened on June 17, which is a good opportunity for the province's tourism industry to prepare to welcome new inflow of international visitors from a number of traditional and potential markets.
To actively attract tourists and develop local tourism, the province's tourism industry focuses on improving the quality of visitor services and diversifying experiences. Festivals are seen as tourism products. How to organize, operate, promote as well as tourism products is also focused.
The tourism industry will focus on the market of festival tourism. To achieve high efficiency, the tourism industry needs to evaluate international tourists - Hue's main tourist markets, especially tourists from Thailand, France, Australia, Germany, the USA, UK, the Netherlands, Spain, and Taiwan, Malaysia, and many other countries who are very interested in cultural issues.
In addition, the number of domestic tourists from the two regions with the need and taste to learn about culture is quite high. This is the basis for the tourism industry and related departments, agencies, and units to research, pay attention to properly invest in cultural tourism, festival tourism, improve service quality to attract visitors.
