Launching the Archive and Research Center of the Vietnam Buddhist Academy in Hue

HNN.VN - On the afternoon of September 9, the Vietnam Buddhist Academy in Hue announced the decision to establish and launch the Archive and Research Center of the academy located at campus 1 - Hong Duc Pagoda (109 Minh Mang, Thuy Xuan Ward, Hue City).

Attending the meeting were the Most Venerable Thich Giac Toan, Vice Chairman of the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, Director of the Vietnam Institute of Buddhist Studies; Nguyen Khoa Diem, the poet, former member of the Politburo, former Head of the Central Committee for Thought and Culture; Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Phan Ngoc Tho and a large number of monks, nuns, Buddhists, cultural experts, and researchers.

Most Venerable Thich Hai An - Director of the Vietnam Buddhist Academy in Hue is the director of the center. According to the decision, the center has the function of gathering, storing, researching, and promoting the value of Buddhist heritage and cultural documents, and national culture to meet the research needs of monks and nuns and the whole society.

Also on this occasion, the Center for Archive and Research introduced to the public the storage space of Buddhist woodblocks, family library bookcases, etc., which were collected from many sources as well as donations from many familie.
