The installation of sculptures along the park on both sides of the Perfume River enhances the dreamy atmosphere, adding focal points to the urban landscape of Hue.

This information was shared by the provincial People's Committee on December 26th, regarding the plan to organize the Public Art Design competition and International Sculpture Symposium - Hue 2024.

According to the announcement, the competition and symposium with the theme “Impression of Hue, Vietnam” will take place in two stages. Stage 1, the public art design competition featuring conceptual designs, will run from January to early March 2024. Stage 2, the international sculpture symposium, will take place from early March to early May 2024.

For the public art design competition, the primary participants will be young creative individuals, students of universities and colleges majoring in architecture, interior design, fine arts, culture, as well as artists, architects, and designers. Meanwhile, the international sculpture symposium will welcome sculptors with the requisite talent, health, and time.

It is known that this event is recognized as one of the activities to fulfill commitments with UNESCO, aiming to nurture young talents and develop a network of young designers as Hue joins UNESCO's network of creative cities. Simultaneously, it contributes to promoting creative design activities in the community, enhancing access to green, safe public spaces, serving as a bridge to bring creative ideas and practices closer to the public. This activity will also foster multidimensional collaboration to create an environment that places the youth at the center of the creative industry, seeking investors to realize innovative ideas and establish creative spaces not only for Hue in particular but also for Vietnam in general.
