Enhancing skills in preserving and restoring Sino-Vietnamese Demotic Character documents

More than 50 students from public libraries, libraries of universities and junior colleges, officials in the system of museums, and owners of Sino-Vietnamese Demotic Character documents in Hue city attended a training course on methods of preserving and restoring documents organized by the Provincial General Library within the very last week of November.

In the course, the trainees were trained in the knowledge of preservation for archives, damaging agents, techniques for making documents, and the process of document restoration.

In addition, the trainees were also trained in selecting appropriate methods of document restoration, manual reclamation, and document management and preservation during the restoration process.

The training course aimed to meet the urgent needs of each locality and libraries in the current period; contribute to improving professional expertise in safe preservation and promotion of the value of documents stored at the library.
