“Dragon symbol through Tran Do’s pottery”

HNN.VN - Within the framework of Hue International Art Festival Week 2024, on the afternoon of June 6, the Hue Monuments Conservation Center in collaboration with People's Artist Tran Do organized the opening of the exhibition "Dragon Symbol through Tran Do’s Pottery. The exhibition is displayed in the ancient, splendid space of Kien Trung Palace in Hue Imperial Citadel.

Attending the exhibition were Mr. Phan Ngoc Tho, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, along with leaders of departments and the family of Tran Do People's Artist.

There are 56 dragon works, most of which are inspired by dragon images cast on seals of the Nguyen Dynasty, introduced to the public and visitors in this exhibition.

Tran Do is a famous artist in the Vietnamese pottery industry. Through many years of working, he has persistently found unique features for his products, imbued with the quintessence of national culture.

According to Artist Tran Do, to successfully display the Vietnamese dragon product line, he discussed and learned about it at museums and relic preservation units, such as the National Museum of History and the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum, Thang Long Imperial Citadel Center, Hue Monuments Conservation Center to refer to documents and access sources of artifacts and antiques related to the image of the Vietnamese dragon through historical periods. It is an indispensable source of material for him to build his creative resources.

The most prominent in the collection of dragon works of People's Artist Tran Do is inspired by dragon images of the Nguyen Dynasty with the development of posture and patterns to a complete and vivid level.

Visiting the pottery exhibition space of Artist Tran Do, visitors will have the opportunity to admire the works he has diligently researched and crafted over the past decades with his passion for pottery. More interestingly, the dragon works in this space with all designs are competing with each other in rising up with aspirations, wishes and good premonitions.

Hopefully, the exhibition will bring the public and visitors impressive and interesting moments through Tran Do pottery art and the vitality of ancient capital in patterns and motifs.
